Your First Visit
We are so glad you have chosen us. It is our pleasure to welcome you and your pet to Scott Lake Veterinary Center. We know choosing a veterinary clinic can be an overwhelming task, but are confident that our commitment to excellent service, variety of available services, modern medicine and compassionate and knowledgeable staff will meet the needs of your furry family members.
Before your first visit, please gather any previous medical history or adoption records you have on your pet. This will help the veterinarian to get an accurate history and create the best care plan for your pet.
When it is time for your appointment, a Veterinary Technician will lead you and your pet into an exam room where he/she will ask you for information regarding your visit. During their time with you, they will get an updated weight on your pet and possibly do a quick exam.
When the veterinarian comes in to examine your pet, they will take the time to listen and ask questions to ensure we fully understand your concerns. During the physical exam of the eyes, ears, mouth, heart and lungs, you will be asked about your pets’ habits and activities.
For your safety, and that of our other patients, all dogs must be on a leash and properly controlled when in the waiting area. Cats must be presented in an appropriate carrier or on a leash. Slip style leashes are available for free at the reception desk.
We ask that you arrive 10 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment.
